First Time Buyers' Information - Buying in Bulgaria
Bulgaria has become one of the most popular investment and holiday purchase locations in the European and EU property markets.
It can often be complicated and overly involved to make a purchase in Bulgaria, however with new laws in place after joining the EU in January 2007,
it's now easier than ever for EU citizens to purchase a property of any type in Bulgaria.
You'll be pleased to know that for the purchase of any of our properties, we'll make any arrangements that you need to have to legally complete
the purchase. In the case of buying an apartment at Sunset Apartments or Byala Apartments (funrished options available), there are no special requirements, persons from all nationalities (EU and non-EU) are able to purchase and own the apartments on their names without need to setup a company.
Finances of making a purchase
Completing a purchase in Bulgaria requires that the owner transfers ownership of the property to the buyer in the presence of and with the consent of a
Bulgarian notary. The "Owner" and the "Buyer" may in both cases be represented by individuals or a company with a power of attorney detailing their
powers to complete the sale in the name of those they represent.
The cost of the transfer of ownership is an additional 3% of the purchase price of the property. This is the only cost of purchase in addition to the cost
of the properties noted on our site.
